Peter Deekle began his long association with the Peace Corps during his high school years in Alexandria, Virginia. In the early 1960s, he volunteered at the Washington headquarters to help manage the mountain of applications and inquiries for this new international agency. Having served in Peace Corps TEFL after college for two years in Iran, he now contributes periodically as a reviewer for the Peace Corps Writers project, serves as an advisor on the Museum of the Peace Corps Experience and as Advocacy Chair of the Peace Corps Community for the Support of Refugees. He also edits the quarterly community news feature in the National Peace Corps Association’s WorldView magazine.
